Partnerships

The ESAIC collaborates with industry, national societies, and specialist societies to promote advances in anaesthesia and intensive care. The Industry Partnership provides industry participants with opportunities for visibility and engagement with ESAIC members, allowing them to better understand specific needs in anaesthesia and intensive care. This partnership provides educational resources as well as opportunities for collaborative projects that benefit science, education, and patient safety.

In 2023, ESAIC partnered extensively with industry to launch several educational and sustainability projects, culminating in the "Dear Green Place" initiative at Euroanaesthesia 2023 in Glasgow. This initiative showcased environmental sustainability in anaesthesiology and intensive care, featuring themed islands on topics like energy efficiency, waste management, and sustainable anaesthetic practices. Staffed by experts from Green Anaesthesia Scotland and the ESAIC Sustainability Committee, these islands facilitated discussions and learning about green practices. The project highlighted ESAIC's commitment to sustainability, supported by active participation from numerous industry partners.

In 2023, the NASC undertook several significant initiatives. They organised two web events, including one in the autumn, focused on patient safety and quality. They published crucial research papers on topics such as the night-time work of anaesthesiologists and fatigue among European anaesthesiologists. The committee promoted international cooperation, supporting training initiatives in Tanzania and Brazil, and contributed to the Sustainability Committee's consensus document on sustainable anaesthesia practices. Additionally, NASC welcomed new members and facilitated their integration through web meetings, enhancing coordination and cooperation within the society.
